Exploration and Exploitation of Mobile Apps for English Language Teaching: A Critical Review

With the progression of various mobile technologies, applications have tremendously increased, especially during Covid-19 pandemic, and such been exploited much in teaching learning. This study explores educational potential using English language (ELT) or Mobile Assisted Language Teaching (MALT). A critical review research is explored this study, specifically from published papers since 2015. Initially 131 articles were selected ScienceDirect, SAGE, IEEEXplore, Google Scholar. However, only 13 matched inclusion criteria. These analyzed reviewed following categories: role technology, pedagogical practices, methodologies, context usage, outcomes. The found that technologies are increasing, it expected to rise future. In addition, teachers use different enhance settings inside outside classrooms. During COVID-19 schools closed indefinitely. unexpected situation has forced students stay at home, online learning seems grow exponentially. Thus, through review, significant outcomes identified for future investigation practices.
